More Sweet Dogs for Adoption

Just a quick post to show you two dogs that are in need of a home.
The picture to the right is the spayed female.
She is about a year and a half old and is a sweet girl. It is hard to see in the photo but she has brindle markings.
Unfortunately these dogs are in a desperate situation. A Haitian man, who is a caretaker on someone else's property adopted these dogs and his boss, and owner of the property, had told him not to get any dogs. So he is not allowed to keep these dogs and they MUST find a home.

The neutered male is in the picture to the left.
He is black with a white blaze on his chest, and also has a very sweet personality. He is also about a year and a half old.
If you, or anyone you know would be interested in adopting one, or both, of these dogs please contact Friends of Abaco Animals.

Two Special Dogs for Adoption

Friends of Abaco Animals has 2 very sweet dogs that are looking for homes.
The tan and white male weighs about 26 pounds, and probably won't get much bigger, since he has maintained this weight now for about a month.
He is a bundle of energy and very friendly. Right now he is undergoing treatments at Dr. Bailey's office for a skin disorder, but will soon be ready for his forever home. He has one yellow eye and one blue eye, as you can see in the photo below.
He is also kennel broken, so will be very easy to house train, if he needs any house training at all.
This little guy was found along the road on the Treasure Cay Highway with patches of hair missing from the skin disorder.

The black and white dog is the little female that is looking for her forever home. She is also a small dog.
About 3 weeks ago she was run over on the Airport Road. The person who did this got out of his truck, looked at her and was getting ready to drive off when the lady behind him said, "are you just going to leave her there?". He of course replied "What am I supposed to do?" and left the scene. This lady then carried this sweet little dog into the vet's office for treatment, to find out that she had severely broken hips. She has had kennel rest for her hips, since nothing else could be done and is doing very well now. She will never be an agility dog, but will make a great pet. She is shy and timid, but still very friendly.
Through all of this she has never let out the first cry and is very content in her kennel, so again, housebreaking will either be a small issue or no issue at all.
We also have 2 other dogs looking for homes and we will be posting pictures of them in the next few days.
If you are interested in adopting either of these dogs please contact Friends of Abaco Animals for more information.
Please spay and neuter your pets to make our jobs a little easier.

this weeks updates

Little black puppy, Elton, and little brown puppy Evie have been adopted.

Thanks so much to those of you who have shared our blog with friends, and those who "share" these posts on Facebook. Please continue to do so!!

Soon we will be letting everyone know all the wonderful desserts that have been donated to our "Designer Desserts" Silent Auction, that will take place on November 27th. We have cakes coming from Texas!!!! Isn't that awesome? And we have had a lot of generous people donate from right here in Abaco. I was amazed at how quickly the requests came in. Our goal was to have 20 different desserts and we have exceeded that number.....so check back and I will post a list to tempt you so you wont want to miss this event.

Another exciting, upcoming fundraiser is being organized by Royal Potcake Rescue in Atlanta. A big raffle with amazing prizes and a band from Atlanta. All the proceeds from this are going towards spay and neuter clinics all over Abaco. This event takes place on January 6th, 2010. Check out their website http://www.potcake.org/ for more details and to purchase raffle tickets.
I really didn't have a picture to post, so I used a picture of one of my many potcakes named Trixi.

Have a great weekend !

Cute Puppies for Adoption

We have 2 cutie pies currently in foster care that are waiting to be adopted to a loving home. This little guy in the above picture is a black male, about 6 weeks old who has been named Elton. He was found on the Abaco Highway near the Sandy Point airport. He is a little shy right now, but just needs some TLC.

The above picture is Evie, a brown and black female puppy that is about 14 weeks old. She was found under a car in Marsh Harbour.
Please email FOAA or comment under the photos if you are interested in adopting either of these potcake puppies.
